HOW TO: Painting Daisy Glasses (Custom Order)

My friend called me the other day and asked if I could add some sort of design to these stemless wine glasses she had. Each one already had a single word on them and she gave me full creative freedom to come up with whatever I wanted. How fun is that?

I began by preparing the surface of the glasses by wiping them down with

rubbing alcohol and drying them thoroughly.

Then I started painting the center of each of the four flowers

with Deco Art Americana Gloss Enamels.

Then I added long strokes of solid color mixed with a bit of white for the petals, creating a natural effect, and continued the design all the way around the glass.

I added accents of black dots all around, and

then added lime and forest green to make simple leaves. Let dry overnight.

To make paint harden and cure, place glasses on cookie pan or pie tin, then place in oven.

Now, turn on oven to 350 degrees and bake for 1/2 an hour.

Turn off oven and let them remain in oven, cooling for approx. 3 hours.

Remove glasses and hand wash thoroughly.

"Enjoy" in bright yellow.

"Savour" in sunny orange.

"Cheers" in cornflower blue.

Here's a pic of the backs to show how pretty they look all the way around.

This was such a super fast and easy design to paint, practically anyone can do it!

I created these four glasses in 2 days to give them drying time in between coats....

it's really humid here, in Hawaii. =)

Happy painting!
